The surface of Kepler-22b is littered with the skeletons of giant snake-like creatures. Their origins are currently unknown.
A living serpent-like creature was born from Mother after she became pregnant under mysterious circumstances. After its birth, it demonstrated flying capabilities and grew immensely in a matter of hours, after feeding on Mother.[1] This creature is known to be related in some way to the extinct serpents whose remains are found elsewhere on the planet, although the nature of their connection is unknown.
Characteristics[]
While their behavior or eating habits remaining unknown, a serpent this large could top the food chain as an apex predator. Although the serpent born of mother is known to eat pumpkins found on mountain peaks. Due to many skeletons in close proximity, it is assumed the serpent was a social species.
Appearance[]
While the physical appearance of these snakes remain unknown, the skeleton of these serpents, including a skull wide and large enough to fit a human adult and the length of the rest of the body suggest it is two or three times as big as Titanoboa, the largest snake confirmed on Earth. When they die, they appear to curl in a spiral. Whether their cause of death is from the desert landscape or the landscape naturally began to barren in the years following death is unknown.
Physical Abilities[]
- Nutrients - When they die, their essence appears to benefit the ground they're buried in, enriching it with enough supplements to grow crops for years to come.
Origins[]
It is currently unknown whether the serpents were a native species to the planet, or whether they arrived there in a similar manner as the ancient humans whose descendants are found on the planet.
Giant serpents figure prominently in a cave painting discovered by Paul, suggesting that the ancient humans on the planets had some relationship with the serpents.
Throughout Raised by Wolves[]
