Raised by Wolves is an American science fiction drama television series that was released for streaming on HBO Max. Developed by Aaron Guzikowski ("Prisoners"), the first two episodes were directed by Ridley Scott ("Alien"), who also serves as executive producer for the series. In Raised by Wolves, after Earth is torn apart by religious differences and the human race teeters on the edge of extinction. An atheistic android architect sends two of his creations to start a peaceful, godless colony on the planet Kepler-22b. Mother and Father attempt to raise human children in this mysterious virgin land – a treacherous and difficult task that’s jeopardized by the arrival of the Mithraic; a deeply devout religious order of surviving humans. As the androids make contact with these zealous and dangerous people, they struggle to control the beliefs of their fiercely self-determining children. The first season premiered on September 3, 2020, on HBO Max, releasing the first three episodes immediately for streaming.
The cast includes Amanda Collin ("A Conspiracy of Faith"), Abubakar Salim ("Fortitude"), Winta McGrath ("Aloft"), Niamh Algar ("The Virtues"), Jordan Loughran ("Emerald City"), Matias Varela ("Narcos"), Felix Jamieson ("Game of Thrones"), Ethan Hazzard ("The Long Song"), Aasiya Shah ("Call the Midwife") Ivy Wong ("Star Wars: Rogue One"), and Travis Fimmel (Vikings). The series is produced by Scott's Scott Free Productions, with Scott, writer and creator Aaron Guzikowski, David W. Zucker ("The Man in the High Castle"), Jordan Sheehan ("The Terror"), Adam Kolbrenner ("Prisoners") and Mark Huffam ("The Martian") serving as executive producers. Season 1 aired from September 3, 2020 - October 22, 2020 and Season 2 will premiere on February 3, 2022.
